- Theatre
Where do I even begin? Theatre is... my life. That sounds corny, I know, but it is honestly the only way I can describe it. It sometimes feels like the only thing that can truly make me happy. Which is, worrying. I guess. But, well, that's autism.
Acting
I've been acting since I was nine, mostly through theatre youth groups and summer camps but I've also worked with childrens theatre in a production of Peter Pan and done several showcases and a full out musical in high school (or the Swedish equivalent of high school, Gymnasiet).
Some of my favourite shows I've done are:
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (as Billy Bibbit), Little Shop of Horrors (as Seymour Krelborn), Att Dela en Kaka (as Hamlet, among others), Antigone (as Antigone), and Angels in America (as Prior Walter). In general I love when plays are long and complicated and not afraid to take interesting risks with staging and symbolism. There's reallys something to be said I think about how the fact of the very nature of plays being that you have to suspend your disbelief a little means that there are so many interesting things you can do on a stage in regards to symbolism that you can't do on film. I am very insane about theatre.
Writing
While my main interest in theatre lies in acting I have always been a person who writes a lot so, naturally, I've tried my hand at writing a lot of plays. Although I've yet to finish one... someday, hopefully. Currently passively writing a play with a friend about surgical theatres in the early 1800s (sort of. oversimplification) and even more passively writing a sort of autiobiographical play about a truly devastating unrequited love situation I was in for about three years. Also writing a horror anthology thing set in sweden in mid december with another friend.
Musicals
I love musicals!!! I could talk for hours about my favourite musicals (Cabaret, Operation Mincemeat, Fiddler on the Roof among others) and I could also talk for hours on my very particular and annoying tastes in musicals (the long and short of it being basically just that I intensely dislike the "pop-ification" of modern musicals). Big enjoyer of Sondheim and Dave Malloy. HATER of Dear Evan Hansen and Six and an assortment of other modern popular musicals. Have absolutely zero interest in Epic so don't even try.
Shakespeare
To die, to sleep. To sleep, perchance to dream.
Very cliche, I know, but my favourite play is in fact Hamlet.
I read Hamlet for the first time when I was fourteen and it really really stuck with me. I related a lot to Hamlet as a character and the story and it's themes really resonated with fourteen year old little me. I'd say that my all time dream role has to be Hamlet. I've been on and off writing my own adaptation of the play for a while now that focuses on my own (very personal haha) interpretation of Hamlet as a trans man. It is nowhere near finished but I could honestly talk about this version of Hamlet for hours and when it is finished by god you all will be hearing about it. (threat) I might write something expanding on my thoughts on this so idk watch this space...
- Literature
I've always been a huge reader, although more so when I was younger unfortunately (that damn phone...). Nowadays when I do read I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi as well as a lot of classic literature. Lately I've been reading specifically a lot of russian classic lit, hence why I am studying russian. I like long complicated books with lots of characters that I can get attached to, so naturally I'm slowly trying to make my way through A Song of Ice and Fire (currently on A Game of Thrones). I'm also planning on reading the Silmarillion soon as well as Babel by R.F Kuang. Currently reading, and enjoying, My Heart is a Chainsaw.
- Costume design
I've always found costume design to be an underappreciated part of film, tv, and theatre. Specifically in theatre I think that bad costuming can actually really bog down an otherwise great production and make it look messy and cheap. I did a project on costume design in high school and helped design the costumes for our production of Little Shop of Horrors together with my friend Elina (who played Audrey). Will forever be mad about Conclave being snubbed for best costume design at the 2025 academy awards... Wicked did NOT deserve to win for that I'm sorry argue with the wall. They didn't even put the people in emerald city in green tinted glasses... what the fuck is the point then...
- Leather
I have a leather fetish. It is not something I hide and I like talking about it. Leather is also imo the coolest material ever it looks sick it smells good it feels good when it's taken care of and it's sexy as fuck thank you very much. Number one hater of "vegan leather" (plastic).
- Religion
I did not grow up in a very religious enviroment, but religion has always fascinated me. I think faith is a very beautiful thing and I love learning about different religious customs and traditions across the world and across time.
Judaism
I am interested in converting to Judaism in the future. Judaism as a religion has always resonated very deeply with me for a variety of reasons and I've wanted to convert since I was around thirteen. I haven't actually like... done anything about this yet but I will! soon. probably. someday. I both hate and love talking about this because my personal faith is so personal to me but also judaism is my special interest and I loove to talk about my special interest. I contain multitudes.
Mythology
For much the same reasons that I am interested in religion I am also interested in Mythology. As a child the nordic myths fascinated me greatly, something that was spurred on by the fact that they were taught to us in school, and as a tween I fell deeply in love with greek mythology through Rick Riordans Percy Jackson books. I think its fascinating how much overlap there is between different cultures mythologies and how they evolved with the times and how some of them eventually got assimilated into christianity.
- Music
I love music!!!!!! I listen to a very strange but wide variety of genres: lately mostly folk music, musical theatre, and industrial metal. Never forget that my spotify wrapped in 2025 had my top two artists as ghost and Mozart, my top genre as metal, and my top two albums as Le Nozze di Figaro and Operation Mincemeat. I am many things but i am not predictable. I play four instruments at a sort of intermediate level, could probably do better if i actually tried but with chords or maybe sheet music i can play a lot of things at a passable level on guitar, piano, harmonica, and recorder. I also sing a lot, obviously. I go to a lot of concerts with my dad, because he has good taste in music and if I go with him I dont have to pay for tickets!! win! I am a lot less pretentious about music than I am about other things and will listen to most things!
- Video Games
Everyone please play Pentiment NOW!!!! It changed my life lowkey I cried both times I finished it its perhaps the only game ever made. I play a lot of text based games, avid user of choice of games and eagerly avaiting the sequel to Jolly Good: cakes and ale! I also enjoy playing the occasional rougelite and have no shame about playing them on easy mode. I like to enjoy my games sorry not sorry. I used to play a LOT of minecraft when I was younger, but now I mostly play vintage story! I also loe pathologic, haven't had the time to play P3 yet tho so no spoilers please!!
- Translation
I do a lot of translation for fun. In 2024 I translated Frank Wedekind's Frülings Erwachen into Swedish from the original German for a personal project that unfortunately never got off the ground, but I hope to put on a production of that someday. I have also been translating Dave Malloy's musical Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 into Swedish since 2023, that project is currently shelved but I do want to get back into it someday. Currently I am translating Spitlip's Operation Mincemeat into Swedish with a friend for a personal project and for fun! I am currently taking a class in text analysis and translation as part of my Russian course and am very excited to get into translating Russian!
